Lipi Foundations’ workshop focuses on wellbeing, holistic health at Hansraj Public School, Panchkula

Lipi Foundation, an NGO, has been working in the field of Women’s health and have been conducting workshops, seminars and lectures to create awareness on PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome). PCOS is one of the most common diseases faced by women and is still an unknown term to many. Realising the need for creating awareness regarding PCOS, the NGO has conducted and organised lectures and seminars at various places in Chandigarh (www.lipifoundation.org) one such workshop was organised at Hansraj Public School, Panchkula on the 27th of April, 2017.

The Workshop was organised for the teachers of the school, post the school hours. The topic of the workshop was “Women’s’ health and hygiene – A focus on PCOS" and was attended by 60 teachers of the school. The session was presided by School Principal Mrs Jaya Bhardwaj, Dr Mrs G. K. Bedi (Bedi Hospital & Infertility Center, Sector 33, Chandigarh) who was the key speaker and Mrs. Apurva Goyal, (Senior Manager (corporate), CHRESO (Chemical Resources) the parent company of Furocyst® and Grecobe® (supporters for the cause)), while the session was coordinated by Dr Mahek Singh (Principal consultant, Lipi Foundation).

Dr Bedi, the key speaker explained what PCOS is, its causes and how it affects different aspects of the life of a woman and spent some time answering the queries of the participants; While Mrs Goyal listed out various alternative medicine options for managing PCOS. She also explained how the two products Furocyst® and Grecobe® are helpful in weight management and help in maintaining the insulin level of the body. The session ended with an address by the Principal Mrs Jaya Bhardwaj, appreciating the efforts the team had put in to put together the workshop.
